MRT 14 known for its s projects and fellowship, celebrated RTI week involving all facets of Round Table.
On 12-11-11 we celebrated 41ers day at JC residency along with MCRT 99. This was a National initiative and we had a lot of participation from Square legs from 80s, 90s and current decade too. Tr Rishwant from MRT 14 and Trs Vishnu and karthick from MCRT 99 hosted the meet where more than a 100 heads participated and danced the night along with new and old numbers played by DJ Paramesh.
On 14-11-11 we visited Inbalayam, a school and home for orphans and donated a wood furnace stove worth Rs 21,000/- with contributions from Tr Sridhar and Tr Rajiv. The home is run by MrJohn, Affectionately called Mottaiappa where we found the children to be quite healthy and cheerful. They were very thankful to us for this was their long term dream to own one.
On the same day we also conducted a traffic awareness program for children along with our tabler Rajiv’s organization. Children were taught traffic rules and were awarded a traffic warden pin if they completed some exercises.
On 15-11-11we held a press meet to publicize about Round table India and About RTI week. We also built a cooking shed worth Rs 9,500/- for a home for underprivileged children run by Akshaya trust.
On 16-11-11 we provided lunch for inmates of Government blind school at KK Nagar. Nearly 25 children and 5 staff members benefitted from this project.
On 17-11-11, we conducted the go-green program, where we conducted an awareness program for children of Sevalayam, an orphanage. We planted 14 trees in their premises and Dr Senthil PhD Asst Prof At Agricultural college Madurai gave a great inspirational talk to the boys who greatly benefited from this experience. We also distributed snacks and refreshments for the boys for the evening.
18-11-11, Tablers and circlers went to balwadi at KK Nagar and installed wire mesh mosquito nets in the sleeping area of children. This Balwadi has a hostel for small kids from underprivileged families. The entire hall was fit with mosquito net and also a FTE Hoarding was erected at the balwadi which is just opposite the Law college and commercial taxes office and is on a very busy road.
The same evening we left for Mysore to celebrate NFD with tablers of MRT 21 and MCRT 109. We had a meeting with them and exchanged pins and flags, followed by a great party. The Mysore tablers were very hospitable and tablers from MRT 14 enjoyed being there.
